• heather lake - mtn loop hwy
nothing much to say about this hike. it is one of the first i took 13 years ago when i started back hiking. well worn path, four miles and 1000' of gain and the knees seem to have survived the effort with only minor pain and stiffness.
• mt. pilchuck- Aug 2, 2015
got started around 8a and found 10 cars in the lot. Lot was very full, when I got back around 11:30a. quick 5+ mile hike, but still has 2200' of gain and today, 360 degrees of mid-summer hazy views.
• beckler peak- july 11, 2015
misty and even rainy day for this hike to a peak just east of skykomish. trail is sturdy and well graded with a much easier tread than last weeks hike to gem lake. on clear days the views are supposed to be very nice from the top, but today the only thing visible was the extended scrambly looking summit ridge.
• snow and gem lakes - july 5, 2015
at 11 mi and 2250' gain, probably the upper end for me right now. hiked to snow and then gem lakes near snoqualmie pass, very hot. hiked around gem lake and out a ways on the ridge leading to roosevelt, before returning to gem and taking a dip in the perfectly cool water at the outlet.
• lake valhalla / mt. mccausland - june 28, 2015
for my second trip out, another fairly easy hike to lake valhalla and nearby mt mccausland. good trip on a very warm humid day.
• annette lake - june 13, 2015
after almost 4 years an easy hike to a popular snoqualmie area lake. pleasantly surpirsed at how well my knees did both during and after.
