With poor weather forecast west we opted for an east side trip and a chance for better conditions. Hex Mtn turned out to have little snow and too much mud, so we back-tracked to Thomas, which only one of us had done. We crossed Silver Creek on the sturdy little bridge and followed an abondoned road south and then back to a point just northwest of Pt. 4291 on Easton Ridge. We should have stayed on the trail and climbed more or less directly up slope to the junction. We did descent this way. From the junction we kept the cliffs on our left we tracked upward to Pt. 4942. Heading north from there, we dropped 200', gained the south ridge and climbed about 400' to the summit.
