We hiked the snow covered Annette Lake Trail, leaving it to climb west facing slopes below Silver's north ridge.  We hit the ridge some distance from the summit and stayed on or near the ridge top as we traversed south.  There are some ups and downs along the way and we could have made it an easier scramble by staying a little lower on the west side of the ridge and cutting up when directly below the summit.  However, it was hard to see anything with the conditions this day, so staying high made some sense.
