Season: spring

A classic early season scramble to a lookout peak on the drier east side.  We parked at the trailhead behind the ranger station and hiked up the trail.  It's a good trail, but gains around 1000'/mile, so you'll get some exercise.  We lost the trail in the snow above 4000' and aside from some question about where we should find the short road portion of the trail, we didn't have any route finding problems.
